Lieutenant Junior Grade Walker was the pilot of a F4U-4 Corsair fighter with Fighter Squadron 114 (884) aboard the carrier USS BOXER (CV-21). On April 7, 1951, while on a combat mission, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and the engine froze. He was last seen entering a fog bank near Tanchon, Korea. He was presumed dead on April 21, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
