Captain Webster was the pilot of a F-51D Mustang night fighter with the 36th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 8th Fighter Bomber Group. On September 14, 1950, while on a combat mission, his aircraft struck a high tension line and augured into the ground two miles south of Kuksa-bong, Korea.
