For his leadership and valor, Lieutenant Colonel Webster was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal with 18 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

USMA Class of June 1943, Lieutenant Colonel Webster was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was the pilot of a F-80C Shooting Star fighter with the 35th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 8th Fighter Bomber Group. On January 8, 1952, while rendering close air support, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire, crashed and burned. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
