Corporal Wescott was a member of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy on Hill 303 overlooking the Naktong River near Waegwan, South Korea on August 18, 1950.
