For his leadership and valor, First Lieutenant Westcott was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
First Lieutenant Westcott was a member of Company C, 13th Engineer Combat Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy at the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea on December 2, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
