Second Lieutenant White was a platoon leader in Company I, 3rd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while leading his platoon in an attack on enemy positions near Nodong-ni, North Korea by small arms fire on October 22, 1951.
