USNA Class of 1950, Captain Wills was the pilot of a F-84E Thunderjet fighter with Headquarters Squadron, 49th Fighter-Bomber Group. On April 12, 1953, while on a combat mission, after completing a bomb run, his aircraft crashed. He was presumed dead on April 13, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
