Private First Class Young was a member of Company H, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was wounded during the fighting at the combat outpost "Frisco" in North Korea on October 7, 1952 and was killed during a counter attack at the "Hook" on October 27, 1952.
