The cost of war cannot be measured in just combat deaths. More than 16 million Americans served in World War II, and the inherent risk of war touched all corners of the Armed Forces.

In early December, staff at Cambridge American Cemetery received an unexpected holiday card. “Imagine our surprise, when we opened it to find a beautiful reproduction of a wartime Christmas Card,” said Suzie Harrison.

In the towns and villages of northern France, where American forces liberated the French people during World War II, the memory of our fallen is far from forgotten. Local citizens come to ABMC cemeteries and lay flowers at their adopted graves as a gesture of their appreciation.

The normal entrance at Corozal American Cemetery will be closed on November 17 due to maintenance work. Visitors may enter on foot by the side entrance located up the road on Calle Rufina Alfaro. No cars may park inside the cemetery or block the entrance.
