Private Barrett was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a Light Weapons Infantryman with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 5, 1951.
