Staff Sergeant Lloyd was a member of the 656th Aircraft Control and Tactical Warning Squadron based near Saratoga Springs, New York. He had recently returned from 18 months service in the Korean War. On November 2, 1952, he was driving alone when his automobile left the road near Saratoga Springs and crashed into a tree, killing him instantly.
