Captain Biggs was awarded the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Captain Biggs was the pilot of a AT-6D Mosquito observation aircraft with the 6148th Tactical Air Control Squadron, 6147th Tactical Air Control Group. On January 3, 1952, while flying an air-ground control mission, his aircraft was hit by ground fire, exploded, crashed and burned. He was taken Prisoner of War and died while a prisoner on March 31, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
