For his leadership and valor, Lieutenant Colonel Hill was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Ribbon, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
Lieutenant Colonel Hill was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously Wounded in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 1, 1950 and died of those wounds on December 15, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
