For his leadership and valor, First Lieutenant Wilson was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
First Lieutenant Wilson was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was killed while delaying at the outskirts of Hamhung, North Korea on December 18, 1950. He was buried in a Hungnam UN Cemetery, however his remains have not been recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
